After a long day of brewery hopping for my best friend's bday we wrapped up our shenanigans here at brick anchor. Best decision!

As soon as we opened the door we saw the amazing birthday sign for our friend! Her deployed hubby had called and set up our reservation. What a peach!

I wish I could have taken pics of all the delicous food we gobbled down and the steam punk-esq decorations but of course my phone died two pics in. Whomp Whomp.

Service was phenomenal! Our waitress was on point with recommendations for pairing drinks with our food. We ordered a smorgasbord of apps and entrees to split amongst the group.

Every item was heaven! The drink pairings were on point for those that drank..... H2O For me as DD.

Calamari - beautifully fried, not too much breading, and the right amount of chew. Who doesn't love a great aoili??

Boom Boom Shrimp - disappeared too fast for me to try but smelled heavenly.

Fried pickles - pickles still crisp and juicy with a thin breading, just wow.

Big Texas Burger - I haven't had a burger in quite some time as delicious as this one. Luckily two were ordered because it would have been a war at the table if not. JUICY! CRISPY BACON!

Pork BBQ sandwich - another that disappeared from the table before I could try it but I did get a bite of the house coleslaw on it and it was sweet and tangy!

After bringing out the cake that was dropped off earlier the staff, ourselves, and some guests joined in to wish my girl a happy birthday. Definitely cannot thank the entire staff at Brink Anchor for helping  make her bday so special. Ya'll knocked it out of the park and I can't wait to revisit and enjoy the beers there!

*Parking can be tricky! Have patience while finding a close parking or skip the trouble and pay for a garage*

This place is awesome and has excellent service.  My favorite thing I ordered were the buffalo cauliflower. I love my chicken wings and these were a nice equivalent. Crunchy from the breading (light so I felt somewhat healthy but the dish was probably fried) and spicy from the sauce. So good, especially with beer

We got there just in time for happy hour and our waiter was kind enough to remind us of our luck. My husband and I both got a different version of grilled cheese, brisket beef and turkey reuben. Both were tasty and the meat was tender.  Both sandwiches come with a side and I got the Brussels sprouts, which were good also. Hubby got French fries, which weren't anything special but went along well with the sandwich.

My boys got the Mac n cheese with fries. It was a good size and kid friendly so my boys chowed theirs down.

Great place! Must try for a pub in downtown Norfolk!

We came here after work with a group of co-workers and were immediately frowned upon when we said we might have few others who would be joining us. We requested if they could open up the space upstairs if there were no current reservations for the area and the respond was just a NOPE WE CANT!

Since we were already at the place we decided to have a drink while waiting for the others to drop by. Took us 10 mins to order the drink then a wait of another 10 to get it. As our party started dropping in, we requested multiple times for the area upstairs to be opened up to accommodate but in vain (even though the area did not have any current reservations and was completely empty!!)

Overall the staff members were SUPER RUDE! They just plainly asked us to leave and instructed the host at the front to close the door and not let any new people in! This is the first time I have experienced such a terrible service and terrible attitude!!

We wont be back to this place for sure!

BRAISED BEEF GRILLED CHEESE is all you need to know. Lord it was so Devine. It found tastebuds I didn't know I had. OMG I'm speechless- just get it!

Awesome happy hour- cheap drinks and food!!!! I had a few Bahama mamas that were made with a banana liquor that sealed the deal. So Delish!

I had the bourbon wings- very good, perfectly cooked and sauced (on HH menu).

The onion straws were equally tasty. There was a HUGE mound of them, enough to share and also on the HH menu.

Lastly we had the tacos, you guessed it!! HH MENU :) they were so good and fresh, served with cheese dip, pico and sour cream.

Also- the chef came out to ask how our food was, I was impressed with this being that it wasn't a 5* restaurant. Customer service was great, all around a nice Happy Hour after a long day!!!

Alright. It is yet another brewery in the HR area. It is getting old, I'm with you....BUT

--- location. It is downtown and with that, you pay downtown prices. Parking sucks, but I recommend the Plume Street garage. If you throw back a lot of (insert whatever) weizen, be careful walking back. Amateur froggers can lose a life.

+++ food. The creamy mac and cheese burger. My god...the cow they slaughtered must have been blessed by (insert your religious icon here) because that was an all-time top 20 burger.  The bacon they use immediately changes your breath and you want more.

+++ booze. I didn't buy any. Oh shame on me? Well, I dont drink and drive, so yeah there is that. I'm not taking an uber either, especially on a school night.  Let's re-focus.

+++ staff. There were like 50 of us...below fire code, and we had Amber has our waitress/bartender and whatever role she did. She did phenomenal and was quick on making drinks and bringing food.

I really liked this place. Is it better than other breweries? Idk, they had good food and the carbonation level on their soda was solid. I'd come back.
